It’s already Mid-February and most of the winter is over. That means spring is just around the corner, which also means it will soon be time for mini-roadtrips! My husband and I don’t get too far from home when it’s nasty out, but come spring, we hit the road in earnest. Sometimes we don’t even have a clear destination, we just take off and drive. Sometimes we actually have a destination but an enticing sign will pop up and lure us away.

My husband and I both love history and we get really excited when we see historical museums, monuments and even engraved plaques . We have been known to arrive at weddings, graduations and funerals a few minutes late after being unduly tempted by some unfamiliar historical landmark. We also love antique shops and will drive miles out of our way to see one, we also will occasionally take a deep detour into strange countryside on the promise of a yard sale.

I think when we stop doing our mini-roadtrips it will be a clear sign that we are old. Until then, we drive!
